Pacific Palisades – The Heart of O’Connor Estates

The Pacific Palisades represents the heart and soul of O’Connor Estates. It is where Claire O’Connor and her family used to live. It is where our business was born. Sadly, both home and business were taken by the Palisades Fire, along with so many other homes, historical buildings, parks, schools, offices… lives.

Today, we celebrate the rebirth of our magical coastal community. We see the beginnings of new builds. The reemergence of old established businesses. The return of family, friends, and joy. We look to the future while preserving and protecting what has always made our village so unique and special — its rare blend of natural beauty, architectural heritage, and the people who make it more than just a place — they make it a home.

Where in the LA is Pacific Palisades?

Pacific Palisades sits on LA’s Westside, between Santa Monica and Malibu, bordered by the Santa Monica Mountains to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south. At its center is Palisades Village, surrounded by distinct neighborhoods like the Alphabet Streets, Rustic Canyon, and The Riviera

HISTORY 10’1

Pacific Palisades was founded in 1922 by Methodist settlers as a quiet coastal retreat. It soon drew artists, actors, and architects to its ocean bluffs and canyon hillsides. Among its landmarks is the Eames House, built in 1949 by Charles and Ray Eames — now a National Historic Landmark.

Shopping & Food Recommendations

Palisades Garden Café

One of the first restaurants to reopen after the fire. A cozy, 20-year strong, neighborhood staple serving comfort food and breakfast classics.

Prima Tacos

A fire survivor serving simple, fresh, and full of flavor, Mexican food. A local go-to for taco cravings with a full bar serving craft cocktails.

Ruby’s Nail Salon

Recently reopened and already buzzing again. A longtime favorite for a little polish and a whole lot of community catch-up. New equipment. Same Ruby.

Porta Via

A weekend brunch favorite for Claire O’Connor and her family, and a Palisades tradition. Currently closed due to smoke damage but we are praying for its return.

Pali Skates

LA’s longest running female-owned skate shop in the country since ’99. Currently online only, but still carrying the Palisades skate culture on its back.

Elyse Walker (Flagship)

A fashion destination, since 1999, that once put Palisades Village on the style map. The flagship is set to return in 2026.
